Chamonix - the dream of a trail runner

Chamonix Valley – Mont Blanc has become a favourite trail running destination and there are many reasons for that. Discover the beautiful trails around the valley with breathtaking views of the Mont Blanc as well as the Aiguilles Rouges.

We pick two of our favourite routes to show you the valley while you run and make friends on the trails. Each day we will have two options, from which you can choose depending on how long you want to run. If you decide to go for the shorter version you will take either a lift or a train back (included in the tour). The runs will last approximate from four to six hours giving you time to enjoy Chamonix or just relax at the spa of your hotel.

During the afternoon you can plan a visit to some of the different attractions that Chamonix has to offer. We meet again at night to enjoy dinner together and why not a glass of wine or a well deserved cold beer.

The routes are challenging, there will be long and steep uphills with amazing landscapes. The famous switchbacks on the downhills will be a lot of fun. You’ll run and hike with a light vest and in the company of an experienced International Mountain Leader (UIMLA) that will be with you all the time.

Day 1 | Arrive in Chamonix

Welcome to Chamonix! Depending on your time of arrival you will have time to walk around, enjoy the trail running capital of the world and just relax at our chosen 4* hotel. In the evening we will have a group briefing followed by dinner.

Day 2 | Chamonix

We will hit the trails after breakfast. Expect to run and power hike between four to six hours (depending on the route of your choice). Once back in Chamonix, we will have a well deserved picnic lunch. Relax at the pool of the hotel or explore the area before dinner.

  • The route: 13 km  - 1500+ 500- or 20 km - 1500+ 1500-

  • Highest point at 2260 meters

  • Approximate time 4 - 6 hours

Day 3 | Chamonix

After an early breakfast get ready to take a short transfer by train and then hit the trails. Expect a day out of four to 6 hours, depending on your selected route. If you decide to run the short route you will be free to depart after 2.00 PM.
